With a new car, you would hope and expect the car to be presented with the upmost care, boasting flawless paintwork with no marks, scratches or swirls.

However, this generally isn’t the case. Transportation, storage conditions and poor PDI preparation at the dealership can cause an array of paint defects, scratches and marks before you even receive the vehicle! Light swirls, scratches, bird lime etching, wet sanding marks and polishing holograms to name but a few.

Dealers are likely to offer their in-house protection packages with "upto 5 years protection" and "no more washing required".

In reality, these packages are poor value for money. These products are generally applied incorrectly and on poorly prepped paint from the in-house valet department, that are on tight timescales with minimal training on how to properly prepare and protect your new vehicle.
